Review of data:unplugged 2025

The data:unplugged 2025 AI and data festival in our home city of Münster was an absolute success with over 6,500 visitors, and we can look back on an exciting and inspiring exchange! 🌟
A particular highlight for us was the presentation by our CEO Ulf F. Loetschert, who spoke together with Christiane Konrad from RTL Germany on the topic of ‘Generative AI on the customer front’. Hundreds of listeners crowded in front of the stage. RTL+ was one of our first customers to decide in favour of using generative AI at the customer interface in early 2023. At that time, many companies were still in the process of discovering generative AI.
The result is impressive:
Before the introduction of LoyJoy, the rapid user growth at RTL+ meant that customer service was struggling with a constantly increasing number of user enquiries. The challenge was clear: a more efficient solution was needed to deal with the increase in customer enquiries!
After working with LoyJoy and using the AI chatbot as a first point of contact, RTL+ was able to achieve enormous success. In 2024, the chatbot already had over 1 million conversations, with the human takeover rate dropping to just 2%. The chatbot therefore resolves 98% of customer enquiries automatically. The best thing about it: customer satisfaction has remained at the same high level compared to human contact! The collaboration with LoyJoy has definitely paid off for RTL+ and has made a major contribution to significantly increasing efficiency in customer service. 🎉 We are very pleased that our presentation was so well received by the audience. We were repeatedly asked about the presentation at our stand - the feedback was consistently positive! It’s great to see how generative AI is making a real difference in customer care and inspiring so many customers.
In addition to the presentation, there were of course other highlights at data:unplugged!
Our CEO Ulf F. Loetschert was interviewed by Deutschlandfunk for the podcast ‘KI verstehen’ to talk about the future of AI in customer service. This was a great opportunity to share our perspectives and further explain the importance of Generative AI for customer interaction. 🎙️
There was a lot going on at our stand too! It was great to meet many industry experts and have exciting conversations. The dialogue was inspiring and we are happy to have made many new contacts. Of course, we couldn’t miss out on our competition - and it was a huge success! 🎁 Our stuffed animal unicorns were particularly popular. 🦄 Many thanks again to all participants and congratulations to the winners!
The two days at data:unplugged not only offered the opportunity to network with leading minds in the AI industry, but also to experience a variety of exciting presentations, practice-orientated discussions and different perspectives. The input was extremely inspiring and showed how diverse and dynamic developments in the field of AI and customer service are.
We are delighted about the many valuable contacts and the positive exchange at the trade fair and are already looking forward to seeing how the future of Generative AI will continue to unfold! 💬🤖
